Delores Ruth Churchill, age 88 of Janesville died at her home on May 1, 2017. Delores was born in Janesville on June 27, 1928, the daughter of John and Minnie (Diehls) Osmond. She was one of 13 children in her family. She married Donald E. Churchill on February 7, 1948 in the parsonage at First Baptist Church in Janesville, where they are still long-time active members. Delores was employed for 17 years in the cafeteria at Parker Senior High School. She enjoyed working outside in her garden and loved flowers.
Delores is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald Churchill, three children, Gail Wimmer, Kathy (Allen) Punzel and Mike Churchill all of Janesville, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and her only surviving sister, Elsie Van Brocklin. Her parents and 11 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3414 Woodhall Drive, Janesville. Rev. Jerry Amstutz will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
